Monohybrid Cross - A Genetics Definition

Definition: A monohybrid cross is a breeding experiment between P generation (parental generation) organisms that differ in one trait.

Examples: The allele for green pod color (G) is dominant and the allele for yellow pod color (g) is recessive. The cross-pollination between a P generation green pod plant and a P generation yellow pod plant results in all green offspring. All genotypes are (Gg).
