More Baby Animal Names

Saturday December 27, 2008
All animals have common names. These names may be different for the male, female, and young of a species. They may also be different for different groups of animals.

For example, a male sheep is a ram, a female sheep is an ewe, a baby sheep is a lamb, and a group of sheep is a flock.

Common names are different from scientific names in that they are not unique to a specific animal and can change depending on the age or gender of an animal.

Do you know what a baby gorilla is called? Play the Baby Animal Name Game II and learn the names of various baby animals.
