The researchers discovered that exposure to cigarette smoke causes the body to release certain enzymes that are responsible for cell growth. These enzymes, along with increased levels of the hormone norepinephrine, are thought to be responsible for altering the shape of the left ventricle. Researchers believe that the activation of the enzymes is a major factor in the development of cigarette smoke-induced heart injury.

I Make my Physicist thesis about Radon trapped by smoke fumes. Radon is Radioactive as you know
from lungs its radiated heart with alpha particles.
Syncerly
There are other ways smoking can change the shape of a heart. As it raises blood pressure, this can cause dilation in the heart, valves and arteries. Those with a predisposition to this (due to other causes, such as Marfan syndrome) should avoid smoking for this added reason.
Nice article . But u should mention the passive smoking is more dangerous than the actual smoking!!!??. Weather the same changes happens in the pasive smokers also?.. any researches are going their.?!!
That is true.smoke is insoluble due to wich it gets attach to heart and makes it original shape changed.
