Plant cells are eukaryotic cells that are similar to animal cells. Unlike animal cells however, plant cells contain structures such as a cell wall, plastids, and large vacuoles.

The cell wall gives plant cells rigidity and support. Plastids assist in storing and harvesting needed substances for the plant. Chloroplasts are plastids that are necessary for carrying out photosynthesis.

Do you know which vessels allow water to flow to different parts of a plant? Test your knowledge of plant cells and tissues. Take the Plant Cell Quiz!

Learn more about plant cells and tissues before taking the quiz. Visit the Plant Cells and Tissues page.
