With gas prices so high, everyone is looking for a cheaper, new energy source.

Researchers now believe that microbes may be the best source for creating renewable energy.

They are a good choice because they are abundant and can exist in almost any environment.

Microbes, such as bacteria, have the potential to produce large amounts of renewable energy at no harm to the environment.

Information provided in this study, published in the journal Nature Reviews Microbiology, outlines two methods by which microbes can be used as energy sources.

The first method involves using microbes to convert organic materials into energy sources, such as hydrogen or electricity.

The other approach is to use photosynthetic organisms to produce materials that can be converted to renewable liquid fuels.
