The idea that birds descended from dinosaurs is not thorough enough. There were two evolutionary answers to the Permian Ice Age: (i) Mammals, and (ii)Birds. You see, dinosaurs were birds from the get-go! Flightless downy feathered birds..were the forefathers of the dinosaurs.
