Endoplasmic Reticulum

The endoplasmic reticulum(ER) is an extensive network of membranes composed of both regions with ribosomes and regions without ribosomes. The rough ER has ribosomes attached to its membrane. The smooth ER contains no ribosomes on its membrane and has a wide range of functions including carbohydrate and lipid synthesis. Read more.
