Plant Viruses and Viroids

Plant viruses commonly spread by either horizontal transmission (received from an external source) or vertical transmission (inherited from a parent). Viroids are tiny strands of RNA, usually only a few hundred nucleotides long. Viroids can interfere with a plant's metabolism. Read more.
